Now more than ever it is very important for managers to communicate effectively with their team to reduce miscommunication and increase productivity. Building trust on your team through compassion will show your team that you care about their needs which will grow their trust in you and each other over time.
When you are in a leadership position, it is important for you to follow the golden rule “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” If you show that you are a person of great character by treating others as you would want to be treated, you will build trust on your team.
You should sincerely care about the people that you work with. Let’s face it, you spend a lot of time with them and you will forge better relationships if you show that you are a caring and compassionate person. You will also lead by example which will set the tone for your entire team and how they relate to one another.
People who always put their needs first are often viewed as untrustworthy. Why would your employees trust you if they knew that you did not have their best interests at heart? There are times when your needs will have to come first but this should not be the case all the time. When you show that you are able to put yourself out there to help your employees, you will earn their trust over time.
