This course provides managers with best practices in team communication and collaboration. You will begin by learning the common pitfalls of communication and collaboration practices across many organizations today. Next, you will learn how to implement a communications strategy and some of the different approaches you can take. Then, we will discuss ways that you can avoid miscommunication including active listening. After that, you will learn to review the effectiveness of meetings so that you do not fall into the trap of “this meeting could have been an email.” Next, we will talk about some of the ways that you can establish trust on your team. Then, we will talk about the silo effect and how you can avoid it. Finally, you will learn how to cultivate and lead a self-managing team.

By the end of this course, you will know how you can apply the strategies presented in this course in your current job as a manager to help you plan and roll out communications practices to support your goals while minimizing miscommunication to ultimately reduce project timelines and costs.

I want to thank my husband and Producer, Jason Benhoff. He did an excellent job on the animated scenarios for this course and was very careful in choosing the color palette and overall design. We are facing a new phase for our business in 2021 and I would not be able to focus solely on authoring if it were not for him.

We already have a lot of projects planned for next year in 2022 and we are very excited to be able to focus on producing learning content from here on out. Stay tuned!
